Inside near-empty Dublin Airport and Cork Airport with just three planes a day flying in one

Pictures show eery scenes inside Ireland's two biggest airports as coronavirus halts flights around the world.

Cork Airport is now down to three return flights in and out of the airport a day - with all of those travelling to and from London.

The first flight, a British Airways journey to London, leaves at 4pm.

While the last flight of the day is the same BA plane arriving back from London Heathrow at 7:30pm.

A spokesperson for the airport said: "Cork Airport as a vital piece of national infrastructure remains open as an essential service.

"We continue to facilitate scheduled flights daily as well as Emergency landings, the transport of vital PPE supplies, medical evacuations & all essential non commercial flights."

Dublin Airport is considerably quieter than usual as well but there are still over 40 flights in and out of the airport on a daily basis.

"We’re an essential service & are operating for vital cargo flights - such as medical supplies - & repatriation flights. We continue to follow all Govt health & travel policies."

Ireland West Airport in Knock now has zero commercial flights in and out while Kerry Airport has two flights in and out, both to Dublin.
