Inside Matt Damon's Dublin pad where he's isolating around the corner from Bono

A high class Dublin suburb has a very special A-lister in its midst.

Dalkey, a wealthy part of the Irish capital, already hosts U2 hitmaker Bono, but in more recent months its added Matt Damon to its roster of famous faces.

Matt was shooting for his latest film, Ridley Scott's The Last Duel, when Ireland went into lockdown in response to coronavirus, forcing him to stay put in the house with wife Luciana and three of his kids.

To be fair, there are worse places to be stuck - as an Oscar-winner and Tinseltown royalty, Matt's been able to wrangle a five bedroom, five bathroom pad.

Floor to ceiling bay windows in the kitchen give occupants a sweeping view of the Dublin coastline, while the kitchen itself has been designed with elegant creamy white panelling and modern flare.

The bedrooms boast walk-in wardrobes and sprawling double beds - plus more big windows - while there's also a games room with a pool table and a bar for those days when quarantine boredom gets to the family.

The kids splash about in the pool while mum and dad retire to the sauna or enjoy a cocktail poolside on the covered outdoor seating.

While it's no doubt a great place to be holed up, it's a staggering €7000 a week to rent.

But given the locale, that's hardly a surprise.

Bono's just around the corner, as is his U2 bandmate The Edge, as well as Van Morrison.

Still, Matt and his family had a tense time while eldest daughter Alexia was ill with coronavirus in New York City.

Alexia, who Matt's wife Luciana shares with her ex-husband, is a student in the Big Apple, a COVID hotspot.

She's since recovered and is well, but had to do so while her family were stuck in Ireland.

Speaking with Graham O'Toole and Nathan O'Reilly on Spin 103.8's Fully Charged, Matt told: "Our eldest daughter is in college, she's in New York City.

"She had COVID early on, along with her roommates and got through it fine. But everybody's OK."
