Inside Leeds United's dressing room after a win - the excitement, camaraderie and embraces

Fans of Leeds United know what it feels like to celebrate a victory in the stands, but Liam Cooper has been explaining to fans what it’s like from a players’ perspective.

Speaking to fans at a Q&A event held at Elland Road last week, Cooper was asked what it must be like in the dressing room after a United victory.

“The excitement when you have gone out there and played the 90 minutes and got the three points, when you go to the dressing room after there’s no feeling like it,” he said.

“When that final whistle goes and the lads embrace at the end and everyone’s together, you can look at each other, look each other in the eye and that single moment after a game, just because we know how hard we’ve trained all week and we know how much it means not just us, the club, the changing room is unbelievable.”

As good as a victory feels for the players, the Scotland international admitted to being jealous of the fans on away days.

He said: “I can’t imagine how good it is for you guys on the terraces as well when you come away and you have got the bragging rights.

“I just can’t wait until I’m finished and can go in the away end and have a few pints and enjoy it, I’m looking forward to that.”

Cooper has made 171 appearances for Leeds United since he signed from Chesterfield in 2014, scoring six goals.
