Inside kinky swingers resort where randy guests bonk on giant bed that fits 25 people

For most couples, the idea of your partner hopping into bed with a stranger crosses a very firm line in the sand.

But for thousands of swingers around the world, the quest for new and exciting sexual escapades has virtually no limits.

Dotted across America, a small but very popular number of 'resorts' cater for lovers seeking a slightly looser approach to romance.

And in a new Vice documentary, journalist Taji Ameen pays a visit to one such establishment to learn just how guests navigate the wild world of swinging.

Secrets Hideaway, described as 'Florida's Adults Only Destination', caters for its customers' wildest desires, boasting a massive 'orgy bed' that can hold as many as 25 people at a time and even a kinky BDSM dungeon.

As part of his series on becoming a 'better man', Ameen spends time with Secrets' staff and loyal fans - joining poolside parties, learning 'swinger lingo' and getting a hilarious guide on how to correctly approach couples when seeking a good time at the resort.

Bonk bed for up to 25 guests

Kicking off his visit, Ameen gets a tour of the spa and resort from Holly, Secrets' director of public relations.

Surrounded by X-rated pictures hanging on the wall, Holly explains the 'triage' area of the building is meant for singletons to mingle and find willing couples to hook up with.

"In order for them to go back there they have to be with a couple," she says. "So when they enter with a couple they leave with a couple.

"Anywhere on the property other than the lobby and the night club, they're able to have sex."

Walking into a massive room lined with mattresses stacked together like a giant trampoline, Holly explains this is where the biggest group sessions go down - with up to 25 participants at a time.

"This is where it gets a little more intense," she says. "This is our main playroom area and this is our orgy bed. We've seen pretty big orgies happen here."

Unusually, to counter attempts to shut Secrets Hideaway down, condos within the complex are actually owned by participants themselves.

And it's not just the customers who embrace the swinging lifestyle - even the staff get in on the act.

Holly says she is known as a 'unicorn' - meaning a single female interested in meeting other couples.

"My girlfriends always joke around a bit, they're like 'borrow my husband for a little bit' and I'm like 'perfect'," she jokes.

"I still get to enjoy that freedom that I have choosing to be single. The best of both worlds."

Poolside parties with games and dedicated MC

During his stay, Ameen joins a poolside party at Secrets, where a dedicated MC known as Party Mark hypes up the guests ahead of the night's entertainment.

Even during the daytime, it doesn't take long for partygoers to get into the spirit - brazenly romping at the bar and inside the labyrinth of private rooms.

The presenter also spends time talking to some of the guests personally - including one pair, Nicki and Elijah, who are known as a 'host couple'.

Having visited the resort for three and a half years, their role is to help newcomers to the lifestyle bed in... so to speak.

"We came one Saturday and then it was like every weekend. We've been here ever since," says Nicki.

Revealing her initial shock after trying out swinging, she admits she wasn't comfortable at first seeing Elijah playing away.

"My first experience seeing him with another female - that really brought out jealousy," she says.

"That was hard for me. Going home it was talking everything out - we argued a lot and then out of nowhere it's like 'ding', it clicked. We had to communicate better."

Spending the day with different couples, Ameen learns the terms for different types of swinging participants.

While 'voyagers' come purely to watch, 'full swap' couples fully embrace sexual affairs.

'Soft swapping', meanwhile, means anything up to the point of sex itself.

Rounding off his tour, the journalist ventures down to Secrets' BDSM dungeon, where he's given the lowdown by a burly looking chap called Master Tank and a woman called Goddess Els.

"This whole realm is about consent, how to acquire consent and how do I show my appreciation for your participation with me?" explains Master Tank.

Bravely throwing himself into some dungeon games, Ameen is run through the safety words.

'Green' means good, 'yellow' means nearing too much and 'red' means stop.

By the end of their session, he comes away having cried 'red' - with some useful lessons in communication for becoming a better man. Mission accomplished.
