Inside Katie Price's FIRST mucky mansion and the terrifying burglary that marred her career

Katie Price copped it from all angles after showing off her manky £2million West Sussex mansion on Through The Keyhole.

With overgrown tennis courts, horse muck on the drive and piles of junk blocking doorways, few could believe KP was such a mucky mare.

But it turns out old habits die hard with a long-forgotten documentary going behind the scenes of her first ever home - and that was a right state too.

Despite having a £150,000 contract with the Daily Star and a relationship with footballer Dwight York, back in 2001 Katie was living in a rundown bungalow with her friend Sally.

The floors of the unglamorous digs were strewn with abandoned burger buns, empty glasses and bags of rubbish.

The surfaces in the cramped kitchen were covered with cheap, plastic yellow appliances and the camera crew had strict instructions not to film below eye level.

"I've given the cameras their orders, they're only allowed to film from there to there... just the heads," she admitted on BBC3's Katie Price: The Jordan Years, which was shot by Richard Macer between 2001 and 2003.

"There was a huge gulf between the public persona of Jordan and the private life of Katie Price ," Macer told the camera.

"It was as if her fame had happened so fast that her life hadn't caught up with it yet".

The documentary also revealed the darker side of Katie's success, showing the chaotic aftermath of a break-in which would change the course of her career forever.

Returning home from a shoot, the camera follows the star as she realises the bungalow has been burgled.

Not only has her car been stolen, but the intruders also scrawled 'S**t Jordan' across her bathroom mirror.

"My car's gone! They've nicked my f***ing car! Sorry, I didn't mean to swear. It's got all my private stuff in that car," a frantic Katie can be seen exclaiming.

And Macer said the incident forced her to rethink her career.

"It was as if the intruders had targeted the Jordan they'd been reading about in the papers... she was paying the price for the image she'd created," he said.

"I think this fact worried her, and I think she felt she had the potential to become something more than just a glamour model. Like a singer. She wanted to have a talent."
