Inside jaw-dropping Edinburgh townhouse on one of city's most expensive streets

There are a lot of aesthetic and beautiful properties in Edinburgh, but in our opinion, this Ann Street townhouse most definitely takes the ticket.

Recently hitting the market in the capital, the £1.9 million property does not come cheap, with the row being the fifth most expensive street in the city on average.

Tucked away near the West End, the street has been used for filming shoots in the past, and it's clear to see why, with the idyllic rows of plush Georgian homes being very easy on the eye.

Set over a whopping four floors, the house contains five bedrooms, and comes with everything you would ever need for happy city living.

Still looking as grand as it did when it was first built, the owners have given the house the makeover of dreams inside, keeping all of the original features, but steeping it in modern luxury.

The kitchen is located on the lower ground floor, as well as a dining area and doors out to the smaller back garden, which is paved in comparison to the green front lawn.

Out the back, the house also has an adorable hidden snug/conservatory, which is accessed through the house.

As well as an array of different bedrooms and bathrooms, the plush interior stretches all the way up that spiral staircase, with even the attic rooms looking like something out of a magazine.

The current owners are even using one room as a walk-in wardrobe, with the space kitted out in floor-to-ceiling storage.

Put on the market by Rettie, the agents said: "This is a rare opportunity to acquire a stylishly presented and beautifully furnished four/five bedroomed house on Ann Street, viewed as one of the most prestigious residential addresses in Edinburgh.

"Ann Street is a row of elegantly proportioned Georgian townhouses designed by renowned portrait artist Henry Raeburn, and named after his wife, that line either side of a picture-perfect cobbled street.

"The A-listed sandstone townhouse is packed with period character and a wealth of original features including Georgian sash and case windows with working shutters, flagstone flooring, ornate cornicework and marble fireplaces that have been sensitively and lovingly restored to their former glory.

The master bedroom (Rettie & Co)

"The handsome property has been upgraded and refurbished throughout with the addition of a stunning bespoke Peden & Pringle kitchen that opens to a wonderful sunroom and patio terrace to the rear of the property.

"In conjunction with Jeffreys Interiors, the current owners have created chic contemporary interiors with oriental-themed wallpapers, a warm colour palette, tactile furnishings and top-quality fixtures and fittings."
