Inside Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo's wedding – from Kourtney-style dress to posh lunch

Made In Chelsea stars Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo have finally tied the knot almost two years after getting engaged.

The reality TV couple, who found love on the Channel 4 show, said ‘I do’ in a service at Chelsea Registry Office this afternoon.

Keeping their nuptials on home turf, Jamie, 34, and 29-year-old Sophie – better known as Habbs – couldn’t stop smiling as they left the ceremony.

Looking effortlessly cool, both bride and groom donned sunglasses as walked down the steps of the registry office after exchanging vows.

The newlyweds then shared a romantic kiss in front of family, friends and famous pals.

Here we take a closer look inside Jamie and Sophie’s big day, from her all-important dress to their intimate wedding reception.

Sophie shunned a long wedding dress for a white mini dress, reminiscent of the gown worn by Kourtney Kardashian or Lily Allen on their wedding days.

The white gown, which looked to be made of satin, had a corset bodice, chic off-the-shoulder sleeves and asymmetric hemline.

She kept it traditional with a white veil and wore white satin sling back heels with diamanté straps around the ankle.

In a nod to her new husband, Sophie held a white clutch bag which had the words ‘Wifey For Lifey’ emblazoned on it.

Her flowers were equally understated and instead of a huge bunch, she held a small posy of spring flowers.

The Chelsea wedding venue

They shot to fame on hit reality TV show Made In Chelsea, following the lives of posh 20-somethings living in the upmarket London borough.

So it is perhaps fitting the Jamie and Sophie chose a local venue for their big day after months of toying with the idea of marrying abroad.

Other possible locations on their list had been Cape Town in South Africa on New Year’s Eve, Barbados, Mykonos and Croatia.

But in the end they settled on the iconic Kensington and Chelsea Registry Office, which has hosted a string of celebrity nuptials over the years.

Judy Garland and her fifth and final husband Mickey Deans married there in 1969. While Patsy Kensit chose the same venue to tie the knot with Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr in 1992.

Jamie and Sophie’s pals Millie Mackintosh and Hugo Taylor also chose the Chelsea venue when they said ‘I do’ in 2018.

The guestlist

As well as close friends and family, Jamie and Sophie's famous pals including Millie Mackintosh, Hugo Taylor, Oliver Proudlock, Alex Mytton, and Caggie Dunlop are thought to have been invited.

Strictly Come Dancing's Giovanni Pernice also attended the ceremony with his pals.

Jamie's one-time best pal Spencer Matthews was notably absent – and so was his wife Vogue Williams, although he is thought to have been invited.

Neither were spotted at the event. While Sam Thompson was also absent from the swanky do, too and has recently been posting about a romantic trip with girlfriend Zara McDermott on his Instagram page.

It's unclear if Spencer and Jamie are still pals, as he also missed the stag do.

Before the wedding, Jamie revealed the day was a smaller, intimate service but more guests would join later for a big party.

He shared: "We have a guest list and it's a huge 220 people. Spencer, Hugo, Proudlock, Mytton, are all coming, we all grew up together, Millie, Caggie, it's an old school reunion."

Following the intimate ceremony, Jamie and Sophie joined a select group of family and friends for a special lunch at one of their favourite haunts, Stanley's Restaurant Chelsea.

Sharing a snap of their wedding menu to his Instagram stories, Jamie told his 1 million followers: "No better place to have our post-wedding lunch!!!" followed by a love heart emoji.

The photo revealed the couple and their guests would feast on Wye Valley asparagus with crispy quail egg, British burrata with pistachio, beetroot and sour cherry harissa and Secret Smokehouse Trout to start.

Mains were roasted cod with cauliflower and capers, steak with bone marrow bordelaise and pearl onions or miso squash with purple kale and hazelnuts. While the pudding was simply listed as 'wedding cake'.
