Inside Jake Paul's successful plan to snatch Floyd Mayweather's cap

Jake Paul came away with a black eye after confronting Floyd Mayweather at the press conference for the undefeated fighter's exhibition bout against Logan Paul, but seemed to get exactly what he wanted from the debacle - attention.

The YouTube star, who boasts more than 20 million subscribers, is on the hunt for his next opponent after beating his first three opponents inside the first round.

Paul, 24, arrived at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami for his older brother's press conference with Mayweather, but managed to get up close and personal with the boxing great.

The social media influencer squared off against Mayweather before snatching his hat and running away.

Despite emerging from the incident with a black eye, Paul seemed delighted with how things went, having showed off a tattoo afterwards with 'Gotcha hat' and a cap on his leg.

And if his actions afterwards are anything to go by, the 3-0 professional planned the whole thing.

The YouTuber launched a new range of merchandise just hours after the incident, which he proceeded to plug on his Instagram page.

Paul revealed a range of hats and t-shirts with the words 'Gotcha hat' printed on the front.

The 24-year-old has now been banned from attending his brother's fight against Mayweather, but he doesn't seem to care.

In a video posted to his Instagram page, Paul wrote: "Hey after thinking about it I just want to say I apologise for my behaviour and I'm sorry.

"I shouldn't have acted that way and... you can suck my nuts I'm just kidding!"

Mayweather joked at his press conference that he was willing to fight both Paul brothers on the same night, and that he isn't planning on training for the bout against the older sibling.

Logan, his opponent on June 5th, has only fought once as a professional, losing to YouTube rival KSI in 2019.

When asked if he would train, Mayweather replied: "No, not really. For this one, I’ve just got to stay in shape."
