Inside Isla Fisher’s London townhouse as she opens up on 'challenging' life after divorce

Having quietly navigated the end of her marriage and the loss of her father, Isla Fisher is ready to share how she rebuilt her world - beginning in her new London home.

The Wedding Crashers star separated from comedian Sacha Baron Cohen in 2023 after more than two decades together. The couple, who share three children, filed for divorce later that year and went public with a statement on Instagram in April 2024, confirming they had “jointly filed to end our marriage.” Their divorce was finalised in June 2025.

Fisher, 48, also faced the devastating loss of her father, Brian, in 2023, a moment that reshaped her priorities and outlook on life.

Now, as she prepares for the release of Now You See Me 3 and the upcoming Netflix comedy Spa Weekend, she says she is intent on balancing work with peace and creating a home that reflects both.

“Trying to create a new life from a grassroots level, at least emotionally, has been challenging, but deeply rewarding,” she told ELLE Decoration. “I’m enjoying this new version of my life. I don’t need to party in my house anymore. I love to get in the bath, light some candles, bring in my laptop and put on something on Netflix. That’s as exciting as it gets.”

For Fisher, who shot to fame in the 1990s playing Shannon Reed in the Australian soap Home and Away, relocating to the UK capital has offered both renewal and creative inspiration after years living in Los Angeles. “It’s such a fabulous city,” she said. “It’s a place where you can tell stories, and I guess I’m writing my own one now.”

Her new home, a bright London townhouse filled with warmth and personal touches, mirrors that new chapter, one centred on family, balance and space to breathe.

“I’ve been obsessed with weeping willows since I was a kid and there’s one in the backyard, so it felt like kismet,” she explained.

“I wanted the kids’ bedrooms on my floor so that I can monitor smartphone use; there needed to be space for my family who live in Greece and visit me a lot and, lastly, outdoor space. With the Australian upbringing I was lucky enough to have, I’ve always been barefoot in the garden or on the beach, so this is as close as I can get to feeling like I’m home.”

Having spent decades in the spotlight, Fisher says she now values life’s quieter moments.

“Home is my calm place,” she added. “It’s where I can recharge, be creative and just breathe.”
