Inside incredible 'Star Wars spaceship' house on sale for £519,000

A bizarre looking house for sale in the US has been compared to a Star Wars spaceship.

The multi-level property, on the market at $629,000 (£519,000), is located in Hamden, Connecticut and was custom designed in 1969.

Made up of four bedrooms and three bathrooms, the house was posted on Facebook. Its unique style has caused quite a stir with social media users, who were quick to compare it to a Star Wars spaceship.

Its sloping roof lines were created to seamlessly blend with the property's 4.2 acres of woodland surroundings.

As you enter the building, you are welcomed with an open, flowing space.

From "sunken" family rooms to oversized windows, this property is full of unique twists which is down to the rare combination of contemporary design.

The kitchen is distinctive in itself – branded as "one of a kind", it comes with a carved sink in the counter made out of teak.

There are pops of funky colours plastered around the property which helps bring to life the 70's inspired decor engulfing the open space.

Designed by a renowned Yale architect David Sellers, the listing describes the property as being "thoughtfully structured to take full advantage of its secluded location in the woods of the Sleeping Giant State Park".

However, it is the very same exterior that left thousands of social media users unsure what to think of it.

One person commented: “Anyone just see a huge bike ramp? I think that’s how my kids would view this."

"Looks like a Star Wars ship," said another user.

Someone else added: “The first sketch of Darth Vader’s helmet."

Many users were also in disbelief about the interior design of the property, with some describing it as "haunted".

“This is like when a serial killer inherits his grandma's house," one viewer joked.

“This looks haunted af” said someone else. [sic]

Another user quipped: "Well, that's the scene of a murder if ever there was."

The property is available with Wojtek Borowski of H. Pearce Real Estate Co for $629,000.
