Inside incredible St Andrews flats overlooking The Old Course that come with butler, spa and unlimited golf

Just a stone’s throw from St Andrew's world-famous course, these luxury properties are every golf lover's wildest dream.

Stunning apartments at the Hamilton Grand start from £1.3million and come with perks such as a butler, spa, valet parking, concierge, private chefs and housekeeping.

The two, three and four-bedroom private residences offer breathtaking views of the manicured golf green, the North Sea and St Andrew’s castle ruins.

Each apartment has high ceilings, arched windows, columns and private balconies – many with views over the 18th hole of the course.

There is even a private lounge for owners and an exclusive 6th-floor terrace.

As BBC commentator Peter Alliss put it perfectly: “It is the best view in golf.”

Golf enthusiasts will also be eligible to apply for a Links Ticket - which gives St Andrews residents and local club members rights to play on all seven courses run by The Links Trust, for a minimal annual fee.

Residents can also enjoy a spot of pampering after a long day of golfing, with a membership at the Kohler Waters Spa included with the apartments.

The spa, located in the Old Course Hotel, offers truly tantalizing treatments, a fitness centre, a 20-metre swimming pool, thermal suite, sauna and Japanese steam room – as well as a fabulous rooftop hot tub.

The Hamilton Grand was built by Thomas Hamilton over a century ago after the R&A declined his membership application.

He took his revenge by plonking the seven-storey building right on the doorstep of the world’s most famous golf course.

It is now owned by Kohler Co, who also run the five-star Old Course Hotel.

The building retains historic features including a magnificent central staircase and a members’ library.

This iconic red sandstone building – with its distinctive bellshaped dome – has provided the backdrop to some of the most famous golf moments.

From Arthur James Balfour, future British Prime Minister, “playing in” as The Royal and Ancient Golf Club’s Captain in 1894 and Seve’s great birdie putt to win the 1984 Open Championship, it's a slice of golf history.

It comes as The Old Course Hotel Golf Resort & Spa announced it is set to reopen next month following lockdown.

If one of these luxury apartments take your fancy, they don't come cheap and will set you back at least £1.3million.

But don't let the hefty price tag put you off living the dream.
