Inside I'm A Celebrity camp as show returns with toughest challenges yet and creepy pool

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! has finally returned to Australia and producers are going the extra mile to ensure this series is the best one yet.

The long-running ITV show's hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have already touched down in the country ahead of the show premiering on Sunday, November 6, at 9pm, with a 105 minute special.

Stars such as former Radio One DJ Chris Moyles, Love Island's Olivia Attwood, Coronation Street actress Sue Gleaver and Hollyoaks star Owen Warner have also arrived in Australia ahead of their stint in the jungle, with more expected to join them later this week.

Exclusive pictures reveal exactly what is in store for the new famous campers when the show kicks off next month, with two terrifying-looking challenges awaiting the celebrities.

Before heading into camp, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will split the stars into two teams – one of which will have to undertake the dreaded Walk The Plank challenge.

Like all the series before, the camp near the town of Murwillumbah in New South Wales the stars will be slumming it in looks a far cry from the luxury hotels and resorts they have become accustomed to over the years.

Rather than comfy beds and home comforts, the celebrities will be sharing the wilderness with a whole host of creepy crawlies and creatures of the jungle, as they attempt to win the public's affection and be crowned the new King or Queen of the Jungle.

Heaps of greenery once again surrounds the camp in the Australian rainforest, with a few of the sky-high infamous walkways connecting various parts of the camp ready for the stars to make their way down.

After spending the last two year's in Wales due to Covid-19 restrictions, it appears the show's presenters Ant and Dec have been treated to a new set for their return to Australia.

A large Wild West-style area is nearing completion, along with a bizarre-looking merry-go-round contraption, seemingly ready for the first stars to face a challenge in a bid to win those all important stars for the camp and ensure they enjoy a hearty meal.

A creepy looking lagoon-style pool has also been snapped, with sky-high scaffolding looming over it - signifying the first challenge may involve the celebrities dangling from a height.

Radio X presenter Chris will surely be hoping he is nominated for that possible task, after previously admitting he could never go on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! just to his crippling fear of heights.

Speaking to former contestant Vernon Kay in 2021, the self-described 'Saviour of Radio One' confessed his fear of heights would be a problem for him if he ever did decide to enjoy a stay in the famous campsite.

Speaking on his Radio X breakfast show, Chris, 48, told Vernon - who enjoyed a stay in the Welsh Castle - it only hit him how bad his vertigo was when he took girlfriend Tiffany Austin’s niece to Go Ape.

"I papped myself and I realised I’m more scared of heights than I actually genuinely thought I was," he said.

I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! is set to return to our screens with a mammoth episode, as the jungle shenanigans begin.

The long-running ITV show starts on Sunday, November 6, at 9pm, with a 105 minute special, which we will see the celebs explain why they have signed up.

Ant and Dec are then poised to set a series of challenges for them to make their way into the jungle camp near the town of Murwillumbah in New South Wales.

Chris and Olivia arrived in Australia yesterday around 10 days before the start of the series, much earlier than usual, with Sue and Owen arriving a day later.

ITV asked the celebrities to arrive around a week in advance so they could isolate and also be tested for Covid-19.

If they were to be unfortunate and pick up coronavirus on the flight over, the idea was there might be enough time to isolate and still test negative before the series starts.

The twentieth and the twenty-first series of the ITV reality TV show were filmed in Gwrych Castle, Abergele, Wales due to the global pandemic causing major issues with international travel.

Giovanna Fletcher was crowned the first and only Queen of the Castle in 2019, with former Emmerdale actor and I'm a Celebrity super-fan Danny Miller becoming the King of the Castle the following year.

"We had two lovely years in Wales, we really enjoyed our time in Wales, but this show has to be in Australia, we have to go back," host Ant admitted when speaking on This Morning earlier this year, as he and Dec confirmed the show's return Down Under.
