Inside historic £975k home with a jaw dropping interior design scheme

A historic Wirral home has come on the market with a price tag that's just shy of £1 million - and the design scheme is something else.

Located on Mill Lane in Raby, this opulent family home actually has Raby Mere running through the garden, with stunning scenic views surrounding the property.

On the market with Fine & Country estate agents, it certainly doesn't come cheap - with an asking price of £975,000.

But photos uploaded to RightMove show just how much you get for your money, as well as offering a glimpse at the decadent interior design scheme unlike anything else on the market.

From the outside, the property looks relatively traditional which is in-keeping with the historic status of this Grade II listed building.

The thatched roof, black panelling and old fashioned windows hark back to a bygone era, and it's even possible to imagine how the property once looked.

But stepping inside, the design scheme couldn't be more different thanks to a 'complete refurbishment programme' which included non-cosmetic works like the electrics and plastering all being renewed.

Stepping through the front door, the property opens out into a grand entrance hall with panelled walls, a beam ceiling and a feature fireplace.

The candelabra and grandfather clock on display in the entrance hall wouldn't look out of place in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, with a Venetian mask hanging from the banister and an eye-catching horse statue set nearby.

Leading on from the entrance hall is the dining area, which also boasts a panelled ceiling, traditional fireplace and quirky design elements including two gold framed mirrors that look positively Disney-worthy too.

The kitchen is fitted with wall and base units with rolled edge work services and a built in double oven.

An island unit in the centre of this open plan space has a four ring ceramic hob, with the bold red colour scheme running throughout.

Moving upstairs, the main bedroom suite has its own dressing room and en suite shower room, while the room itself has an unusual wrought iron screen allowing a view directly over the lounge area.

The main bedroom also leads on to the 'promenade room' which is decorated with black and white tiles while huge floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the wooded areas surrounding the property.

While the property is obviously impressive on the inside, its outdoor features are just as enviable, with two acres of gardens providing total privacy and 'the perfect woodland backdrop'.

The gardens surrounding Mill House stretch to around two acres, with a lawned garden area that looks out onto the woods, while Raby Mere runs through the garden itself.
