Inside Givenchy's flagship London store

Meghan Markle will be pleased. Her go-to designer the House of Givenchy has just announced the opening of its inaugural London flagship.

Situated in the luxury fashion hub of New Bond Street, the store occupies not one but two 18th century properties. Inside, you'll find pastel wall colours, reminiscent of 18th century bourgeois decor, with ceilings and floors embellished by gypsum and floor-to-ceiling mirrors.

Pink interiors colour the Essential Room, home to women's ready-to-wear, shoes and eveningwear, accessed via a striking and vibrant scarlet staircase, whilst it's satiny light green walls and a wooden ceiling that characterises the menswear department.

Currently housing the label's Spring/Summer 2019 collections, Givenchy says it's their 'sophisticated, slightly transgressive "Night Noir" attitude' that shines through the London store.

Givenchy has hit the headlines a number of times in recent months, owing to the patronage of Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, who not only wore the label on her wedding day earlier this year, but has selected it for numerous public appearances ever since, including her first solo outing with The Queen, her first visit to Royal Ascot and first international trip as the new Duchess.

She also chose the designer for her first official solo visit, to the opening of Oceania exhibit at the Royal Academy of Arts; a night she opted for a long mesh sleeved black dress with frontal split and velvet detail.
