Inside Georgia Kousoulou's £1m Essex mansion as she celebrates Brody's first birthday

Georgia Kousoulou and Tommy Mallet wasted no time in cracking on with the renovation of their £1million Essex mansion.

The newly engaged couple bought the sprawling home in 2020 and spent months doing it up – keeping fans updated on the progress.

Now the big works are finished – like the enormous flat-roof extension complete with bi-fold foods – TOWIE star Georgia has turned her attention to the nitty gritty interior styling of the property.

The new mum has had to factor in her one-year-old son Brody as she continually updates the space and removes any items that a small human shouldn’t be getting their hands on.

The couple, who got engaged on holiday in Mexico earlier this year, have spared no expense creating their perfect space.

And they proved their money hasn't gone to waste as they recently threw baby Brody a lavish first birthday party at the property.

Their expansive kitchen sits at the rear of the house, occupying their huge new single-story extension.

It features cashmere shaker-style cupboards, complete with silver hardware and dramatic tall detailed skirting.

They opted for a clean white quartz worktop with which they paired black bar stools to match their black framed bi fold doors that look out onto the perfectly groomed lawn.

It boasts amble storage and a double oven, while a huge dramatic black chandelier hangs over the island next to a skylight which ensures maximum illumination of the space.

Georgia describes her home style as “laid back cool” where she has a base of “neutral, minimal and stripped back” and layers a combination of “earthy stone colours with contrasting black tones” throughout the house.

“I’m all about subtle, cosy style and a look that is very pleasing to the eye,” she explained.

At the other end of their new extension, sits a light grey velvet sofa for guests to sit comfortably while the couple entertain.

They chose a light oak floor laid in a herringbone pattern to maximise the feeling of space.

The bifold doors open out onto a patio area which is lined with a fence with obscure artwork of animals wearing suits.

A globe lamp sits on his dark wood desk alongside his laptop and a funky multi-coloured patchwork leather chair finishes the room, providing ultimate work inspiration for his job as a shoe designer.

Upstairs, the couple have transformed a drab room with an old blue carpet into a stunning nursery for little Brody.

While the lovebirds splashed some colour into the space with design accessories and an array of toys, the new parents opted for a minimal approach when it came to the foundations of the room.

Brody’s room is decked out with a muted grey carpet, cashmere pleated curtains, and black-out blinds so the couple’s newborn can sleep peacefully – day and night.

The radiator is covered with a clever safety solution and an adorable teddy sitting on a cream and wicker hot air balloon hangs from the ceiling, alongside a print which reads “dream big little one”.

Elsewhere in the gorgeous nursery, the couple placed a bed in the room, next to Brody’s cot, complete with crisp white sheets, a fluffy throw, and dozens of cosy brown cushions for nights where they wish to sleep close to their baby boy.

Brody’s bedroom colour palette is carried through into his parents’ master suite.

The tall decorative skirting boards which feature in the kitchen are carried through upstairs, adding to the glamour of the room.

Low-profile dark wood drawers sit either side of the bed which is covered in decorative pillows and a bolster cushion.

Back downstairs, the couple recently renovated a room, transforming it into the ultimate play space for little Brody.

The playroom features a custom built playhouse, emblazoned with the tot’s name. It boasts neutral décor with green, black and white accents and tactile soft furnishings.

Talking about their home and their playroom makeover to Wayfair, Georgia revealed: “I really wanted a playroom which is fun and engaging, and where Brody could enjoy playing his friends, but also blend seamlessly into the rest of the house.

“I think the colour palette has really helped to achieve this and the clever storage options, such as built-in cupboards and all of the handy storage baskets.”

Georgia explained the room was a blank canvas, with doors opening out onto the garden.

“I love that the playroom strikes the perfect balance between being stylish and functional,” she said.

“My favourite item is Brody’s tepee, its so easy to pop up inside or outside and store away afterwards. It’s a great little den where we can read together and get cosy.”

The new mum told how Brody’s favourite part of the room is the lion rocker.

“He loves to hold onto its big mane. I think he thinks the lion and Monkey, our Pomeranian, are twins!”

Georgia hopes he’ll use the room for years to come.

“Our home has always been such a social space, where family and friends mix. It was really important to us that Brody also had an area of our home where he could play freely with his friends.

“It’s such a great transitional space which Brody can grow into and use for many years to come.”
