Emmerdale's Amy Nuttall's life from marriage break down to soap star ex and net worth

Emmerdale fans will remember Amy Nuttall for playing Chloe Atkinson in the ITV soap from 2000 until 2005, when she quit to pursue a singing career.

During her time on the soap, Chloe was part of some big storylines including her relationships with Scott Windsor and Carl King, who was in a relationship with Chastity Dingle.

She lied to Carl about being pregnant and when Chastity found out, the pair ended up in a fight.

The singer and actress went on to play housemaid Ethel Parks in period drama Downton Abbey, but left the show in the third series and also appeared in Hotel Babylon.

She has been equally successful in other shows like New Tricks, Death in Paradise.

In her personal life Amy Nuttall's relationships have often been a hot topic from her relationship with co-star and love rat Ex Ben Freeman to her now estranged husband and The Crown star Andrew Buchan, after it recently came to light she had once again been the victim of infidelity.

But where is Amy Nuttall now and what happened to her Emmerdale character? Here’s everything we know about the actress' life away from the cameras.

Amy Nuttall's marriage breakdown

Amy is married to fellow actor Andrew Buchan and the couple tied the knot in 2012. However, the pair have recently split after it allegedly came to light that Andrew was having an affair with his co-star Leila Farzad.

Andrew stars as Andrew Parker Bowles in Netflix’s The Crown and he has also appeared in BBC drama Broadchurch, Alex Rider, Industry and most recently BBC's Better.

Amy and Andrew got together in 2007 and share two children, a son and daughter together but it is understood that the actor has moved in with co-star Leila Farzard after meeting on the BBC series Better set.

A source told The Sun: 'It was a huge shock. Amy is heartbroken.' Andrew is said to have told Amy that their marriage was over before Christmas, leaving the actress devastated and their friends in a state of shock.

The source added: “For Andrew to walk away from his family was a huge shock to us all – and Amy is heartbroken. Everyone who knows them thought they were going to be together forever.

“But he's packed his bags and left with his new co-star. Whatever has gone on, it seems to have been enough for him to re-evaluate his whole life and rip up their marriage. Nobody is quite sure of the exact details, but Andrew has clearly had his head turned pretty dramatically.”

The reports come just weeks after Leila took to social media to share a gushing tribute to Andrew in a series of snaps featuring the entire Better cast and crew.

Amy Nuttall's Emmerdale co-star ex

Sadly, 40-year-old Amy has been the victim of infidelity before. In 2004, Amy suffered a heartbreak when she discovered ex Ben Freeman was romantically involved with a fan. She reportedly got her revenge by destroying his clothing.

The Sun newspaper reports a source as saying: "She went into the flat when she knew Ben was going to be away. She cut up a load of his expensive clothes with a big pair of scissors, then made a beeline for his precious trainers."

Freeman played Scott Windsor in Emmerdale alongside Amy, before leaving for the stage in the West End. The actor later made a shock return to soap acting when he switched allegiance to EastEnders to play Caleb Malone.

At one point Nuttall and Freeman were the Posh and Becks of the soaps as Freeman reportedly betrayed Nuttall with a model when he was trying to win her back, according to The Mirror.

Amy Nuttall's net worth

According to idolnetworth.com, as of 2023, Amy Nuttall's net worth is $6.8billion.

She lives a luxurious lifestyle and her main source of income comes from films, and secondary income comes from television, brands, ads, and others.
