Inside Emmerdale star Danny Miller's wedding as he marries his first crush who he credits with saving his life

Actor Danny Miller shed tears of joy after marrying his childhood sweetheart Steph Jones in a star-studded ceremony in Cheshire. The happy couple said 'I do' at Nunsmere Hall Hotel in Tarporley before 140 of friends and family, including Danny's former Emmerdale co-stars and their adorable nine month old son Albert.

Danny, 31, who played Aaron Dingle in Emmerdale from 2008 until 2012, and midwife Steph, 30, who looked stunning in her white lace gown, said that apart from welcoming baby Albert it was 'the best day of our lives.' Danny, from Stockport, wore a beige three-piece suit. His best men were friends Chris Gooch and Dan Jillings and his ushers included his former Emmerdale co-star Adam Thomas and Adam's brother former Coronation Street actor Ryan, as well as Danny's brother Paul and dad Vince, Steph’s dad Barry and brother Sean.

Guests included Emmerdale favourites Lucy Pargeter, Charley Webb, Jeff Hordley, Zoë Henry, Emma Atkins, Isobel Steele, Isabel Hodgins, Eden Taylor-Draper and Bradley Johnson, as well as Adam’s wife Caroline, his twin brother, former Love Island star Scott Thomas and Ryan’s daughter Scarlett.

Danny and Steph’s 12 nieces and nephews acted as their page boys and flower girl. And Albert was pulled by Steph’s nephew Rowan in a white cart decorated with flowers and a wooden heart reading 'Daddy here comes Mummy.'

Danny says he was 'overwhelmed' to see his bride and after managing to hold it together there were some tears as they said their vows. Steph's dress, which featured a mesh corset-style bodice and skirt with intricate detailing, was from Florianni Bridal Boutique and was made in Ukraine, reports OK! magazine.

Registrar Barbara Woods, who the couple met on holiday in Fuerteventura, raised laughs when she asked: “If anyone knows of any lawful impediment to this marriage they should declare it now." The crowd remained silent which led Barbara to joke, “You wouldn’t get that reaction in Emmerdale would you?"

Steph told their guests later in the evening that she’d been 'waiting to marry Danny since year eight' and Danny recalled how he had a crush on his bride from the moment they met in primary school and he came home and told his mum there was 'a new pupil called Stephanie started today and she has hubba hubba legs.'

Their romance continued on and off throughout primary school and their teenage years, but they went their separate ways after leaving high school. However they got back in touch three and a half years ago after Danny slid into Steph’s Instagram DMs.

Danny was choked up with tears as he told how they found each other again at their 'darkest times' while struggling with their mental health. He said: "Her mum and dad always tell me that I saved her life, but what they don’t realise in actual fact was that Steph saved my life in more ways than one and changed my life in more ways than one and for that I do owe her my life. It’s why we’re inseparable.”

Steph, her mum and Danny’s mum were all in tears at the moving words and the bride had to have a full make-up touch up. "Before I met Danny I wouldn’t talk about how I felt. I used to try and hide how I was feeling try and make out I was OK," she said.

"Danny was the one who taught me to talk about things and not be ashamed when you’re not feeling great and how it doesn’t mean you’re a bad person when you’re feeling down. Danny made me stronger by making me talk about it.”

After the speeches there was a first dance with a difference as guests were tricked into thinking they were performing a slow dance to From Now On from The Greatest Showman. But they disappeared behind a red curtain with 90 seconds to change into The Greatest Showman outfits to perform a routine with a whole host of performers.

Guests were also entertained by Danny's friend Shane Nolan, the son of Coleen Nolan and Shane Richie, who took to the stage with his band to perform a medley of boyband classics and Baby Shark for the children followed by a stunning fireworks display. The newlyweds spent their mini moon at Carden Park in Cheshire while Steph’s mum looked after Albert.
