Inside East Lothian's huge new 'Disneyland for dogs' play park

A huge dog activity park described as a 'doggy Disneyland' has opened its gates in Pencaitland, East Lothian.

The massive twelve acre centre is located just outside of the picturesque village, around 30 minutes drive from Edinburgh.

Their custom adventure parks are ideal for dog owners who are nervous about letting their dog off the lead in public spaces due to reactive or weaker recall skills - but Unleashed say that the park is perfect for people who also just want to give their dog a great day out.

There's sensory gardens for dogs to explore alongside huge secure deer-fenced park spaces which you can rent privately for a 50 minute session.

The parks are privacy netted and have a buffer zone between them to ensure that any nervous or reactive dogs can feel safe and secure. They are also designed to give your dog enriching agility and sensory experiences to keep them stimulated and help keep them fit.

There's loads of agility equipment on hand - including A-frames, tunnel/bridges, tyre jumps, balance beams, dog houses with multi-platforms all fitted with grip strips to help in wet conditions.

In each adventure park’s sensory garden the team at Unleashed have installed different textured areas including a sand pit, gravel tyre and log and stone piles to hide toys or treats in.

Sessions are £15 and run from 8am to 4pm - check out Unleashed's website here.
