Inside Dublin barber 'breaching Covid-19 rules' as razor sharp video shows punters flocking into 'closed shop'

These are the video cuts that appear to show punters f-locking into a "closed" Dublin barbers which has been allegedly caught breaching Covid rules.

The hair clip shows a man with a mask leaving Huntstown Barbers in Pinewood Court as the shutters are raised half way with the door just open enough to let him out.

While on the back and sides of the street, as many as four young lads prepare to take his place inside.

One by one, the men step inside before the door closes and the shutters brush down again.

The place seems to be having serious problems with its locks as the doors appear to have remained open despite being told by Government to shut until December 2.

And the owner, who is part of a cut-throat business struggling to stay afloat because of locksdown restrictions, appears to have thought he would be able to comb-over the fact that he was still operating during Level 5.

But, razor sharp footage obtained by Dublin Live appears to show the scissor-snipper hair-handed letting customers into his premises for late night snips - and Gardai are looking to give him the chop once and for all.

A source told Dublin Live: "He is clearly and blatantly breaking Covid restrictions. Operating under the cover of darkness so that Gardai would not notice.

"The owner pulls the shutters up and down to let customers in and out.

"All you have to do is ring his number and arrange a time just like in normal times and he cuts your hair in the shop.

"Despite the heat the place has been getting, they don't plan to 'fade' away any time soon."

Gardai have been alerted to the allegations of an illegally operating barber shop in the area.

Dublin Live rang the barber's numbers, telling the person who answered that they were in dire need of a haircut, comparing themselves to Tom Hanks in Castaway.

When asked if there were any available spots going in the shop, the barber replied: "If you text me on WhatsApp tomorrow [Thursday], I will text you back an appointment."

While the video footage above was taken in the night, time is not a problem with Dublin Live being told to call around at any time.

He said: "Whenever suits me, suits you. Whenever you're free, just get in touch tomorrow and I will text you back a time that suits us both".

But when asked if the haircut would take place in the barber shop, the man tells Dublin Live that the cut will not.

He does confirm that he will come to my house or I can travel to his for the haircut - something which is also illegal at the moment.

Under current restrictions, we are allowed to meet up with someone from one other household but it must be done in an outdoor setting where social distancing can be maintained.

He said: "We're not really open. Text me tomorrow when you're free and I will sort everything for you.

"We can sort something out, I can go to your house or you can come to my house.

"But the shop is closed, the shop is in lockdown."

A Garda spokesman said: "We received reports of a premises operating in breach of Covid-19 regulations on 11 November at 6.40pm in the Pinewood Court area of Huntstown, Blanchardstown.

He added: "Gardaí attended the scene and nothing came to light.

"No further information is available and investigations are ongoing."
