Inside David and Victoria Beckham's lavish Irish castle wedding with throne chairs and a Disney cake

Victoria and David Beckham recently celebrated 23 years of marriage with a candlelit dinner in Paris.

David shared a clip of a love heart-shaped balloon floating across the sky with the Eiffel Tower in the background on his Instagram Story.

The football star captioned the post: “We love Paris. Every time we have something to celebrate we are here.”

While Victoria joked: ‘they said it wouldn’t last.”

Victoria, captioning the photo of herself and David, 47. "They say he isn't funny, they say I never smile, they said it wouldn't last," she teased.

She continued: "Today we celebrate 23 years of being married. David you are my everything, I love you so much!!!!"

David and Victoria Beckham got engaged at Rookery Hall in Cheshire after dating for less than a year.

David popped the question after a Manchester United match and they announced their engagement wearing matching black turtlenecks during a press conference shortly afterwards, which led to the beginning of the Posh and Becks media phenomenon.

Wedding Day

Victoria, 48, and 47-year-old David, who share four children, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and 11-year-old daughter Harper, tied the knot in a classic 90’s ceremony at the magical Luttrellstown Castle just outside Dublin back in 1999.

The IT couple’s son Romeo shared a touching tribute on Instagram celebrating their anniversary.

Romeo shared a photo of himself and his parents, with the caption: "Happy anniversary to the best parents in the world I love you so much".

The Manchester United Star and Spice Girl arrived at Luttrellstown Castle for their big day, and the world watched as the biggest names in showbiz passed through the famous gates of the. historic Irish castle.

The iconic wedding made headlines across the world, and Ireland had never seen anything like “Posh and Becks” wedding, as celebrities in blacked out cars arrived at the glamorous event of the year.

The A-list couple had a Disney themed cake, velvet thrones just like royalty, and had a novelty matching outfit change.

The wedding colour schemes included greens, purples and burgundy fabrics.

It was July 4th 1999 when David and Victoria tied the knot in a stunning £750,000 event – over €1 million in 2022.

The theme of the Fairytale wedding was inspired by Disney’s Robin Hood and reportedly took 14 months to plan with a London based events company.

The couple sat on gold velvet thrones fit for royalty as they looked down on their guests.

The wedding outfits

Fashion designer Victoria wore two stunning wedding dresses on her big day.

The first of two dresses, Victoria wore a strapless floor length silk pleated Vera Wang gown featuring a 20-foot train and sculpted neckline and had her dark hair in a spiky style.

The princess gown was said to have cost $100,000.

While David wore a matching white suit, and showed off some blonde highlights in his hair.

Later that evening, the newlyweds wore a second matching purple outfit.

Victoria changed into what she dubbed her “Jessica Rabbit” outfit, as they cut the first slice of their three tiered Disney themed wedding cake with a sword.

A-list Guestlist

Despite the celebrity royal wedding, the pair had an intimate guestlist of their nearest and dearest, with just 29 guests at the ceremony, but over 200 guests at the wedding reception.

The bride and groom’s first son, baby Brooklyn, was four months old and the ring bearer at the lavish wedding.

The wedding guestlist was star-studded, with all the Spice Girls present, Gary Neville serving as David’s best man, and all the England and Manchester United players were present.

The nuptials were officiated by the Church of Ireland, Bishop of Cork, Reverend Colton in a small chapel at the castle.

The wedding was decked out in rose petals, and the couple even had a dove with the initials VBD, for Victoria, Brooklyn, and Beckham to mark the occasion.

The couple had their first dance to Frank Sinatra's It Had To Be You.

Victoria and David are believed to have been paid at least £1 million by OK! Magazine for the rights to their wedding photos – which were shared in an issue of the magazine.

In 2007, it was reported that Beckham was the 52nd richest woman in Britain and the 19th richest person in Britain with husband David, with an estimated joint wealth of £112 million ($225 million).
