Inside Daniel O'Donnell's former luxury mansion as it sells for bargain price of €1 million

Daniel O'Donnell's former home has gone sale agreed for a cut down price of €1 million.

The west Donegal mansion, which the country singer designed himself, previously sold for €3 million in 2007 to former Irish Psychics Live boss Tom Higgins.

The luxury 9,702 square-foot property has eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms - one with a Jacuzzi whirlpool bath, and a two-storey dressing room.

It is located on Cruit Island and sits on almost two acres of land on the edge of a cliff with impressive sea views over the Atlantic Ocean.

The expansive garden includes a wooden summer house, decking and a barbeque area for outdoor entertainment, as well as the property’s own jetty into the sea.

It went back on the market last year at an asking price for €1 million plus, but it is not known how much the new owner paid for the property.

Daniel and Majella moved into a more modest-sized four-bed detached home just down the road in Kincasslagh.

A renovation of their new home was featured on the popular RTE show, Room To Improve, presented by architect Dermot Bannon, in 2018.

The country crooner set a budget limit of €200,000 for the architect to bring more light into the mansion by tearing down walls, removing ceilings and introducing a glass roof.

But after Daniel added to the plans with extra ensuite bathrooms the proposed cost rocketed to €395,000.
