Inside Cristiano Ronaldo's family life as he returns to Man United - four kids, former shop assistant girlfriend

Footballing superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is headed back to Manchester after a stunning transfer from Juventus.

It's been 12 years since the Portuguese was last in the Premier League and a lot has changed in his life since then.

Cristiano has grown his family since his days in his first stint at Manchester United - and is now the proud dad of four children.

He has also been happily in a relationship with his Spanish-Argentine model girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez for the past five years.

The couple live together in Italy, and in November 2017 they announced the arrival of baby daughter Alana Martina together.

Alana, now 3, is the youngest of Ronaldo's four children - he is already dad to eldest son Cristiano Jr, 7, and four-year-old twins Eva and Mateo, that the couple co-parent.

Ronaldo proudly has a photo of Georgina and his children as his profile picture on Instagram, and regularly shares videos and photos of his young family on social media.

Georgina, who grew up in Spain but lived in London for a time when she learnt English, also has an active presence on social media.

She has a huge 26m followers on her Instagram page, although that is still some way behind her boyfriend Ronaldo's massive 333m followers.

Her Instagram biography describes her as "author" and Georgina is keen on wellness and fitness, regularly posting videos of her workout sessions to her followers.

One of her most recent posts on Instagram, on August 24, saw her astride an inflatable turtle in a stunning infinity pool.

She first met Ronaldo when she was working as a fashion assistant at the Gucci store in Madrid, but got together when both were attending a fashion event at a rival designer store.

She has said in interviews that it was "love at first sight".

The couple are said to divide their time between the stunning Italian mansion Ronaldo has called home during his time with Serie A side Juventus, as well as his villa in Madeira - although that may now change as he makes the move back to Manchester.

Ronaldo spent six years in Manchester, having signed for United in August 2003 as a relatively inexperienced winger but left the club in 2009 to join Real Madrid as a man hailed the greatest footballer on the planet.
