Terrified residents are cowering behind boarded up windows on a crime-ridden street plagued by drugs, gangs and masked intruders.
People living on Macauley Street, in Grimsby, say they've faced years of torment and "don't feel safe".
One elderly resident has been living with plywood covering her windows for three years because she's afraid of criminals.
In the latest disturbance, terrified residents were woken by booming noises in the middle of the night.
Masked men in white gloves were attempting to break into a nearby property.
When police arrived and searched the premises, they discovered a huge haul of cannabis.
It is the latest in a string of crimes. Macauley Street's residents say this is the worst it's been for 50 years, according to The Grimsby Telegraph.

One pensioner described seeing the late-night break-in.
"I looked out and saw a man at the back of the house and he was wearing white gloves," she said.
"I called 999 because it looked as if the place was being burgled, and there were others nearby. We counted about five of them in all."
She added: "The police were there straight away and looked around, and found it was choc-a-bloc with cannabis plants. They were there all night and most of Saturday too.
"We are never told what has happened and it was left as it was, not boarded up. The people living there will all have keys so they could come back at any time and we are all worried."

Crimes like these are commonplace here. The pensioner described how her home was once attacked by a man who smashed the windows in neighbouring houses following a row with an ex-partner.
She said: "It cost me £100 to board it up and I have left it as it was because I don't ever want my window being smashed in ever again. It has been like it for three years..
"I have lived her for 47 years and I am too old to be getting involved in what goes on in the street."
She said the landlord of a nearby property had boarded up his home to prevent an evicted tenant from returning.
But he returned repeatedly at night regardless, using a ladder to gain access through an upstairs window.

Neighbours say they were so fed up and worried about the risk to their homes, they smashed up the ladder.
The pensioner said residents had frequently alerted police and community leaders about their concerns.
CCTV, she said, does little to help, and criminals are operating away from the cameras.
"It is terrible living round here at the moment," she said. "We don't feel safe."
A young mother who has lived in the street for five years also said she witnesses crimes every week.
"You see it all the time," she said. "It starts to worry you."
Police data shows that reports of violence, sexual offences, burglary, criminal damage, arson, and anti-social behaviour are prevalent on Macaulay Street.
