Inside Conor McGregor's luxury yacht as the Notorious UFC star travels to Fight Island

Conor McGregor has shared pictures of his luxury yacht as he arrived at Fight Island ahead of his UFC 257 rematch with Dustin Poirier.

The Irishman is in Abu Dhabi with his blockbuster bout set to take place this Saturday, January 23rd.

Dubliner Conor appeared to be meditating as he soaked up the sun on the front deck of the yacht.

The Notorious also showed off one of the big bedrooms as he took a selfie in the mirror.

The yacht was docked within clear view of the Etihad Arena where he will rematch 2014 foe Poirier in less than a week's time.

McGregor chose to sail to Fight Island along with long time coach John Kavanagh.

The 32-year-old was chauffeured to his hotel in a blacked out Rolls Royce.

He swaggered into the hotel reception holding son Conor Jnr in his arms.

CONOR MCGREGOR LETS THE PUNCHES FLY IN TRAINING FOR DUSTIN POIRIER REMATCH

Conor McGregor says he still considers himself the UFC lightweight champion, the dad-of-two said the belt was not wrapped round Khabib Nurmagomedov's waist when the rivals fought in 2018.

Nurmagomedov choked out McGregor in the fourth round to bring a temporary end to their bitter rivalry, but the ensuing riot in the Octagon meant the champion was not presented with his belt.

But despite Nurmagomedov holding the title before he clashed with McGregor, the Irishman insists he remains its true claimant.

"I am the champion, the unified champion was never crowned that time in October 2018; Khabib fled the cage and left me fighting with his family members," he told ESPN.

"The post fight ceremony never took place so I still feel I'm the champion and I'll go in and prove that. The cream always rises to the top and the world is about to see it."

McGregor held both the featherweight and lightweight titles in 2016 following his second-round win over Eddie Alvarez.

He lost neither belt in the cage having been forced to give up both when he pursued a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather.

He then went on to lose to Nurmagomedov who had by then won the 155lb belt by beating Al Iaquinta.

The Dagestan native remains the champion despite announcing his retirement following his win over Justin Gaethje last October.

Nurmagomedov is considering a return should he be impressed by either McGregor or Dustin Poirier when they clash next weekend.

But the former champion believes the belt should be on the line at UFC 257 in Abu Dhabni.

"I'm not surprised [the belt is not on the line] but feel it should be for the title.

"I'm not surprised and not disappointed, it is what it is. The way the year went I don't think I was going to walk straight in to a title shot.

"I'm happy to be back and I look forward to getting in there and competing.

"I was stripped of the featherweight belt before even getting an offer of a featherweight fight and I barely got the second belt in the Octagon in New York that time.

"With the death of [Khabib's] father they've given him time and that's admirable also. The time is now though, it's well past, and it should be for the belt but if not, no problem."

is planning to toast his victory over Dustin Poirier with pancakes and an Irish coffee.

The Irishman normally celebrates his UFC triumphs with extravagant after parties in Las Vegas.

But he will face Poirier at 9am in Abu Dhabi next Sunday in the middle of a global pandemic and so has adjusted his plans accordingly.

"I am looking forward to my post-fight toast," McGregor told ESPN. "It's early morning in Abu Dhabi so I'm going to have an Irish coffee after the fight.

"Usually through weight cuts you begin to crave certain foods and I've been craving American pancakes so I'm going to have a plate of American pancakes and a proper Irish coffee."

McGregor launched his own brand of Irish whiskey following his defeat by Floyd Mayweather in 2017.

He has admitted to having a tipple of two during previous training camps, including before his defeat by Khabib Nurmagomedov.

But the Dubliner insists he has toed the line ahead of his rematch with Poirier.

"To think of some of the times when I was cutting weight and drinking my whiskey heavy... it's not a good mix," he added.

"I did it [stopped drinking] for the Cowboy [Cerrone] fight when I didn't have to cut weight but this time I was following a strict plan so I have been off my liquid, as difficult as that is, I've been off it for this entire camp.

"Granted, I had a little sip over Christmas, but that was very small, just to whet the lips and to see how my creation is blossoming, and it is blossoming beautifully."

McGregor and Poirier will clash for a second time, more than six years after the former two-weight world champion KO'd the American inside two minutes.
