A castle with a dungeon, 12 bedrooms and wine cellar has gone on sale for more than £1.2 million

The expansive pile will be ideal for anyone with deep pockets planning some special yuletide celebrations.

Woodside Castle, set in Woodside Estate in South Ayrshire, comes with 12-bedrooms and six-bathrooms if you are intending having a few guests to stay.

It is a A-listed baronial country home, whose tower portion dates back to 1551.

But the buyer will need deep pockets if they want to live in the lap of luxury and won't have much change from £1.25million.

The Daily Record reports: "The property has been altered and extended over the years and is complete with atmospheric fireplaces, a games room, a wine cellar and an authentic dungeon."

The grounds of the vast white-fronted pile can be seen from the aerial shots in the literature as can the scale of its extensive grounds.

The estate agent goes on to describe the surrounding land.
