Popular independent cafe chain Coffi Co has opened a boutique hotel in the heart of Cardiff.
With six locations across Cardiff, Porthcawl, and Penarth, Coffi Co has opened its first hotel, No. 73, in Pontcanna. Coffi Co opened its first location in Cardiff Bay in 2015, built from old shipping containers.
Their latest venture is set on Cathedral Road and the boutique hotel, which opened in September, is just a stone's throw away from the city centre.

"The Pontcanna area is always developing with new places opening and we wanted to expand to an urban environment which has perfect connections to the city centre," a spokesperson from Coffi Co said.

"Our Coffi Co stores work well in areas where you can walk to get your morning coffee or breakfast and make a destination."
As the venue is a Coffi Co Lounge, it will also have a bar and restaurant which will be open from early in the morning into the evening.

"The rooms are part of the venue so you only have to walk downstairs to the coffee shop restaurant & bar," the spokesperson said.
"We feel we have an offering that will fit in perfect with the Pontcanna area."

The Coffi Co Lounge is set to open at the start of December, where guests will be able to have breakfast, lunch & dinner, as well as access to a full bar area and outside seating.
The hotel features eight boutique rooms inside the main hotel building, including a one and a two-bedroom apartment with a kitchen and lounge area.

A master suite is set over two floors at the top of the main building, featuring a bath tub in the downstairs room and a bathroom and bedroom on the upper level. There is also a deluxe king suite with a lounge area.
The hotel also hosts a two-bedroom coach house in a separate building at the rear of the garden.
Each room has coffee machines, kettles, and bottled water and biscuits, with fresh towels and linen provided daily.

The hotel is the latest addition to the Cathedral Road, which has long been a landmark street in the capital, running adjacent to Pontcanna Fields.
Although the road has seen a past trend of the huge villas being used also as offices and split into apartments it is still one of the most sought-after addresses in Cardiff, not only for period character but also for location. You can read more about the changing face of Cathedral Road here.
