BRITs winner Harry Styles's Las Vegas-style afterparty before clubbing until 5am

Harry Styles celebrated winning four BRIT awards with a Las Vegas-style party, before clubbing until 5am.

The former One Direction star knocked back a shot on stage as he was named Artist of the Year and collected the Album of the Year award, and carried on the party with pals including Wet Leg and Lizzo.

The As It Was singer’s record label Sony threw a bash that took over the whole of Nobu hotel in London’s Portman Square, with sushi canapes, champagne and Las Vegas style poker and craps tables.

Harry had his own private area with plush velvet curtains, where he and pals partied before he head to Soho’s cabaret club The Box.

A source said: “Harry was really in party mode, he wanted to let his hair down and celebrate after such a busy year.”

Harry made reference to the lack of female nominees as he collected his Artist of the Year award, from an entirely male shortlist.

During his speech, he said: “I’m very aware of my privilege up here tonight,” before dedicating his award to Rina Sawayama, Charli XCX, Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine, Mabel and Becky Hill, who all released albums last year.

Charli XCX, left, said: “I’ve heard a lot of chat about the fact that there weren’t enough females in the album cycle. But I was in the album cycle, and I had a number one album – and there’s many of us. We’re doing everything right, so I don’t think it’s our fault. I think it might be theirs.”

Rina suggested expanding the number of nominees, saying: “The problem is that they combined the male and female categories, but they didn’t expand the number of nominees. So I really just want to see the categories get bigger. That’s what the Grammys do.

“Even a nomination can change an artist’s life and it’s a shame to take that away because there’s only five spots available.”

He made light of host Mo Gilligan getting his name wrong, and introducing him as “Sam Capaldi”.
