Inside Britney Spears' 'iron-clad' prenup after tying the knot to husband Sam Asghari

Britney Spears and new husband Sam Asghari reportedly signed an 'iron-clad' prenuptial agreement before their wedding day last week.

The 40-year-old Toxic singer walked down the aisle for the third time as she tied the knot to Sam, 28, at her home in Los Angeles on Thursday (June 10).

But it didn't happen before some very serious legal work to ensure Britney's multi-million dollar fortune is protected.

According to TMZ, the prenup ensures Sam won't get a penny from Britney's earnings made up to this point - the star has a reported net worth of around $60 million.

This means under the terms of the prenup, if the couple were to divorce, Sam will not receive any of the star's past earnings from her tours, albums, and movie roles.

It's also believed that lawyers were called shortly after the couple got engaged in order to get the prenup underway.

Mathew Rosengart, the lawyer who helped Britney end her 13-year conservatorship, was previously rumoured to be involved in the drafting process.

Shortly after announcing their engagement last year, Sam wrote on an Instagram Story thanking everyone for their “concern about a prenup”.

At the time, the fitness instructor wrote: "Thank you everyone who is concerned about The prenup!

"Of course we're getting an iron clad prenup to protect my jeep and shoe collection incase she dumps me one day."

The happy couple married in an intimate ceremony at the singer’s Thousand Oaks home in California last week, which saw Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore and Paris Hilton in attendance.

However, it's reported that Britney's sons Sean Federline, 16, and Jayden Federline, 15, did not attend.

A spokesperson for her ex-husband Kevin Federline told TMZ that although her kids were not in attendance, both of them and Kevin were "happy" for Britney and they wish her the best.

Meanwhile, the singer also chose to celebrate the occasion without her family.

The Stronger star decided not to invite mum Lynne, 67, dad Jamie, 69, and siblings Jamie Lynn, 31, and Bryan, 45.

Tension has been rife in the Spears family since Britney's conservatorship, which saw her dad control huge parts of her life.

Following her daughter's big day, mother Lynn took to social media to share her well-wishes to Britney.

Commenting on a photo of the star, she penned: "You look radiant and so happy!

"Your wedding is the 'Dream' wedding! And having it at your home makes it so sentimental and special! I am soooo happy for you! I love you!"
