Inside Barcelona's Neymar transfer summit with PSG as deadline approaches

Barcelona are growing increasingly confident of reaching an agreement with PSG for the return of Neymar.

Barcelona officials travelled to France for face-to-face talks on Tuesday, looking to secure a deal for Neymar before next week's transfer deadline.

The meeting ended without a deal but talks are progressing well and SPORT reports Barca are optimistic of finalising the switch.

It is claimed a team of Barca officials, including CEO Oscar Grau, travelled to the French capital for the summit.

Among those representing PSG were sporting director Leonardo and Nasser Al Khelaifi's lawyers.

Neymar is keen to make the move happen instead of heading to Real Madrid and, Barcelona are believed to have tabled an official bid of £150m.

That fee would be paid in instalments, ensuring Barca can meet FFP guidelines.

But PSG want at least one player in return, with Nelson Semedo remaining a target. Barca would rather keep hold of the Portuguese defender.

It is also claimed the French champions asked for Ousmane Dembele as part of the deal to take Neymar back to the Nou Camp.

Talks between the two clubs are set to continue and Barca believe an agreement could be reached in the coming days, reports Goal.

The presence of Grau, who is in charge of Barca's transfer funds, could have a big impact on the deal being wrapped up sooner than expected.

Barcelona began their La Liga title defence with a 5-2 victory over Real Betis this weekend, with attackers Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez both missing out through injury.
