Inside Bali house party where dancing tourists brazenly ignore social distancing

Footage of a lively house party in a luxury Bali villa with guests brazenly ignoring coronavirus social distancing advice has sparked outrage.

A clip shared online shows party-goers, including a Brit Instagram star and two Russian models, dancing, cheering and mixing at the North Kuta house.

People are seen waving at the camera, bathing in the pool, mixing drinks, and blasting music out from DJ decks at the 21st birthday party.

"There's nothing low key about this," someone in the video says.

Indonesia is not under a formal lockdown but residents have been advised to stay indoors and avoid social gatherings.

People were not impressed as the footage emerged, with one commenting on Twitter : "I hope none of you is a Covid19 carrier."

Another said: "If you can't follow the rules, go back to your own country."

The footage was initially posted by an 'influencer' called Tyrone Hermitt, from Manchester, reports said.

He has since made his Instagram account private and apologised.

He said: "This was not my party. I apologise for attending."

He said he didn't realise there would be as many people as there were and claimed it appeared busier than it actually was.

He said he respects Bali and will donate to local charities helping people who are losing jobs.

The house party was hosted by playboy pilot Mahmoud Attiya for his 21st birthday, according to the Daily Mail.

Mahmoud also apologised, telling local media they were sorry for the trouble.

He reportedly said: "We only invited few people but a lot of people showed up so we had a call from security and we closed the DJ and everybody left.

"We totally appreciate the Bali government and immigration and their support to help avoid Covid-19.'"
