Inside Alex Beresford's wedding - adorable reaction to bride to son's special role

Alex Beresford has opened up about his stunning wedding day to partner Imogen McKay, including his son's adorable role in the ceremony.

The Good Morning Britain weatherman tied the knot during a romantic ceremony in Majorca just two years after he and Imogen were set up by a mutual friend.

Alex, 41, proposed to Imogen, 29, on New Year's Day while the couple were enjoying a romantic walk along the beach in Majorca before confirming their engagement three months later.

Following their big day at the elegant Son Marroig estate, Alex opened up to Hello! magazine about some of the special moments from the celebrations.

Alex's son Cruz, from a previous relationship, acted as his mini best man and the ring-bearer while the presenter's brother and cousin took on the role of ushers and his two best friends, both named Leon, were his best men.

But it wasn't just his son that caused Alex's heart to melt, the broadcaster revealed that he couldn't contain himself when he saw Imogen walking down the aisle.

Speaking to the publication, he said: "When I turned to watch Imogen walking towards me, my heart skipped a beat.

"She looked amazing, so classically beautiful and exactly as I'd imagined."

The weatherman went on to say that his cousin described the ceremony as "like being in a movie" but noted that the most important part of their day was "marrying the woman he loves".

Imogen opened up about their big day, revealing she was overcome with emotion after seeing Alex at the white marble altar.

Alex's wedding day fell on the date of the state funeral for the late Queen Elizabeth II (ITV)

Despite planning their wedding nine months in advance, the couple had not expected their nuptials to fall on the same day as the state funeral for the late Queen Elizabeth, on September 19.

Had they have chosen to tie the knot in Britain, it is likely that their wedding would have been postponed out of a sign of respect during the national mourning period for the late sovereign who died aged 96.

Speaking about the early morning of their wedding day, Alex explained: "I woke up super early and watched the start of it (the funeral) on TV in a café in the village," explaining that was his way of "paying tribute" to the nations longest reigning monarch.

You can read Alex's full interview with Hello! magazine which is out today (October 3).
