Inquest to look at 'prevention of future incidents' after fatal stabbing of teenager in Radford

An inquest will be held this year to evaluate the processes between different medical organisations following the death of a Nottingham teenager.

Ezekiel Clarke, 17, died on February 19 after being stabbed to his heart, liver and lung after an attack in Churchfield Lane, Radford.

Police and ambulance crews were called to a report of a stabbing at around 7.10pm that day.

A post-mortem revealed Ezekiel died due to the second stabbing to his heart, liver and lung. The first stabbing was to his arm and chest.

Two teenagers - Jaheim Williams, of Trafalgar Close, Radford and a second teenager who can't be named for legal reasons - were jailed last year for the killing.

A pre-inquest review at Nottingham council house was held on Friday, July 9, to determine which witnesses would give evidence during the inquest.

The list of witnesses likely to be called include is a staff member from The Air Ambulance Service East Midlands, a representative from East Midlands ambulance, a medical pathologist, and Consultant Former Surgeon Adam Brooks.

Assistant coroner Dr Elizabeth Didcock said: "To be clear, the focus of the inquest is on prevention of future incidents, looking at the pre-hospital management in this case.

"So the focus will be on the future and particularly the pre-hospital management."

The inquest will also be looking at the joint processes between organisations and how the management proceeds in a 999 situation.

"My focus is in the future and thinking about how these organisations work together and also review situations together."

The final hearing has now been moved to 24th, 25th and 26th of November this year.
