Inquest to be held over death of teen Nora Quoirin in Malaysia

An inquest into the death of 15-year-old Nora Quoirin will be carried out next month.

Her body was found about 2km from the Dusun rainforest resort in Malaysia last August after she disappeared from the house she was staying in with her family.

Malaysian authorities had initially refused the inquest as police concluded she died of natural causes.

However, it has been revealed that an inquest will take place from August 24 to September 4 and 64 witnesses will be called.

The inquest will be broadcast over Zoom due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nóra’s family will not be able to travel for the inquest.

Her parents told RTÉ News they are pleased with the news of an inquest after months of calling for one.
