Inquest opens into young woman found dead in country park

An inquest has opened into the tragic death of a young woman found in a country park. Rebecca Fisher was found dead in Reddish Vale Country Park on April 15.

The inquest into the 28-year-old opened at Stockport Coroners' Court today (August 17). Police Coroner's Officer David Wood told the court that Ms Fisher, from Manchester, lived on Woodhall Road in Reddish, Stockport, which is right next to the country park.

PCO Wood also told the court that she was unable to work due to 'medical incapacity' and her cause of death after a post-mortem was recorded as 'drug toxicity'. Senior Coroner Alison Mutch said a full inquest would need to be held into Ms Fisher's death

Ms Mutch set the next hearing date for September 7 this year where a pre-inquest review will take place. This will decide how a full inquest will be progressed with.

She has requested that a representative from the mental health services and Greater Manchester Police are in attendance for this. A date for the final inquest was not set.
