An inquest has opened into the death of a motorcyclist who died in a crash in Swansea .
Paul Jones, 50, died on Saturday, August 24 when his green Kawasaki motorcycle collided with a Ford Galaxy on Mumbles Road at around 5.20pm.
The father-of-two from Port Tennant , also known as Paulie, was a former driver and doorman and dreamed of owning a Kawasaki motorcycle .
A 29-year-old man, who was driving the Ford Galaxy, was arrested following the crash and has been released under investigation.
Acting Senior Coroner for Swansea and Neath Port Talbot , Colin Philips, opened the inquest on Tuesday, September 10.
South Wales Police have launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances leading up to Mr Jones' death.
At the inquest, PC Christopher Jones from South Wales Police said: "At around 5.22pm on 24th August, South Wales Police received a report of a serious RTC on Mumbles Road, Swansea. Two vehicles were involved.
"Paul was pronounced dead at the scene and one male was arrested at the scene and conveyed to Bridgend.
"South Wales Police will now launch a detailed investigation to establish full evidence."
What is an inquest?
The Ford Galaxy driver was interviewed and released under investigation.
South Wales Police said he will be asked back for a further interview when the full evidence has been established.
Mr Phillips instructed a post mortem to be carried out and has issued an interim death certificate for the family.
The inquest has been adjourned for six months for the investigation to be carried out.
