Inquest opens in to death of three-year-old girl found unresponsive in bed

An inquest has been opened in to the death of a three-year-old girl who was found unresponsive in bed.

Arielle-Hannah Ndebele was found by her parents at their home on Greenway in Romiley, Stockport, on the morning of July 9, 2020.

The inquest opening at Stockport Coroners' Court heard Arielle-Hannah, who was born at Stepping Hill Hospital on May 21, 2017, had been starved of oxygen at birth and suffered complex health issues.

The court heard she had been checked on in the early hours by her parents and was okay.

They checked again at 8am and she was found unresponsive.

Emergency services were called and her death was confirmed at 10.15am.

Assistant coroner for south Manchester Jason Wells set date for the inquest for October 13, 2021.

He requested records from Arielle-Hannah's GP and Stepping Hill hospital and will hold a review on September 30.
