An inquest has been opened after the body of a 34-year-old man was found in the harbour off Welsh Back in Bristol. Police have confirmed that the body of Abdul Rahman Jamal Suleiman was found on Wednesday, August 31, but said it is believed he entered the water on Saturday, August 27 at about 9pm.

His death is being treated as unexplained, but there are no suspicious circumstances and police are now appealing for witnesses. Officers were able to identify Mr Suleiman's next of kin with the support of the Libyan embassy and they have been updated about his death.

Yesterday (September 21), an inquest into his death was opened at Avon Coroners Court. It has been adjourned to Wednesday, November 30.
