Inquest opened into death of two-year-old girl who died in Ingoldmells caravan fire

An inquest has opened into the death of a two-year-old girl who died in a caravan park fire in Ingoldmells.

Louisiana Brooke Dolan is believed to have died from the inhalation of products of combustion, an inquest opening has heard.

The fire broke out and affected one caravan at the Sealands Caravan Park, near Skegness, on Monday, August 23.

Louisiana's mum Natasha Broadley, from Newark, and her three eldest children survived.

They were discharged after being treated in hospital.

Giving evidence to the short hearing in Lincoln on Friday, coroner’s officer Jacqui Foxlow, the lead investigator for the inquest, said: “We have a provisional conclusion as ‘inhalation of the products of combustion’ which is pending toxicology and histology.”

The court heard the further tests could take up to two and a half months, although a final report is expected in the next few weeks.

Police inquiries are ongoing, the coroner was told, and reports have been requested from a GP, East Midlands Ambulance Service, and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The coroner adjourned the inquest to a date to be fixed.

After the tragedy, Louisiana's heartbroken grandmother Donna Broadley posted a series of photos of the youngster which were taken as she enjoyed her time at the holiday park.

In an emotional Facebook post, she said: "Our hearts are broken as 'wee wee' was our baby of our family. Tash gave her everything, she was her right leg.

"Our hearts are broken. We as a family will be here for Tash and my grandchildren."

Pink ribbons have been placed across Nottinghamshire in memory of the youngster, while balloons were let off in Newark and brightly-lit customised vans and lorries passed through Skegness and Ingoldmells in a touching tribute.
