Inquest opened into death of motorcyclist after fatal Chilwell crash

An inquest has opened into the death of a motorcyclist who died after a crash in Chilwell.

Police officers were called at around 2.40pm on Monday, May 31, to a report of a crash in Field Lane.

Kieron Humphrey died on May 31, 2021 and was aged 39 at the time of death.

Mr Gordon Clow, assistant coroner for Nottinghamshire, opened his inquest from Nottingham's Council House on Monday June 14.

Mr Humphrey died at the Queen's Medical Centre and was identified by his mother.

A postmortem examination was carried out, with the provisional cause of death reported as 1a multiple injuries understood to be arising from a road traffic collision.

The hearing was adjourned for further enquiries, with a final hearing date to be fixed.

Mr Clow expressed his condolences to the family and friends of Kieron.
