Kelly Fryer, founder and transformational change director of Peterborough-based Chrysalis Consulting, explains why the business should win the innovation in funding category of the Guardian Small Business Showcase competition.
Chrysalis was created in January 2014 and funded initially from my savings account while I grew the business and started networking and gaining new clients.
In the first year we achieved a turnover of just over £250,000, with an estimated turnover this year of just over £1m.
To get some mentoring and help achieve our predicted growth, we have secured £40k of funding from an investor who will take a 10% share in the business, act as a non-executive director and as a mentor to myself and the managing director.
All entries which meet the competition criteria are published and our judging panel select a shortlist of the three for each category. Winners are announced at an awards ceremony in summer 2016.
