Inner Circle: Keith Mitchell shares how his success on Tour starts in the gym

After leaving the University of Georgia and turning pro, Keith Mitchell knew he needed to make some changes in his fitness regimen to compete with the world’s best on the PGA Tour.

Mitchell turned to trainer Randy Myers after moving to Sea Island, Ga., for help. The two put in the hours of work in the gym at the Sea Island Performance Center and it paid off – Mitchell won his first PGA Tour title at the Honda Classic in March.

When asked about his “Inner Circle,” the people who provide a team of helping hands during the journey in professional golf, from a caddie to a trainer, from an equipment rep to a swing coach, Mitchell didn’t hesitate in his account on the importance of his trainer. “He’s been with me really since the day I turned pro,” Mitchell told Golfweek. “I knew I had some deficiencies in my golf swing. … Randy was really able to target those to really become more flexible in certain areas and more powerful in others.”

Follow along this season as Mitchell and other PGA Tour stars reveal who’s in their “Inner Circle” and how that support translates into success on the course.
