Inkheart by Cornelia Funke – review

Cornelia Funke, Inkheart

This book is about a girl called Meggie who loves reading books. One night a strange man starts talking to Mo (her father)! The next day they go to one of Meggie's aunts. She loves books and her house is full of them. Mo gave a book to Elinor that he wouldn't show Meggie. A day later Mo is kidnapped by men in black with the book. Later Meggie finds out that Mo can read things out of a book. Mo was kidnapped so he could read aloud to Capricorn. Meggie, Mo and Elinor end up captured, then they escape. They find the author of the book. Will Meggie, Mo, Elinor and Fenoglio (the author) stop Capricorn? Will Meggie, Mo, and Elinor find Meggie's mum?

My favourite character is Mo because he can read things out of books and he fixes old books. My favourite character from Capricorn's side is Basta because he is very superstitious. This book by Cornelia Funke also has a quote of another book to tell you something about the next chapter. I would recommend this book to ages nine upwards. This is the first book of the trilogy. This is a brilliant book!!!
