Injury updates for Chargers’ Mike Williams, Michael Davis

The Chargers started the regular season with seven injuries suffered in Sunday’s 30-24 victory over the Colts.

Even though none of them appeared to be significant, it’s always worth monitoring considering they occurred. Among the slew of key players injured were wide receiver Mike Williams and cornerback Michael Davis.

Moments into the contest, Davis was pulled out with a hamstring injury. He did not return, leaving Brandon Facyson to fill in for him for the rest of the game.

Following the matchup, all coach Anthony Lynn said was “hopefully it’s not too bad.”

From those words alone, there’s some reason to be concerned. Also, considering Facyson struggled in the starting role and we don’t know when Trevor Williams will be back, the position group is thin at the moment.

As for Williams, he was forced out of the game with a knee injury late in the second half. There was a bit of a scare when Williams was spotted grabbing his knee, but it appears he is going to be OK.

The former Clemson product said his knee tightened up while the Colts went on their game-tying drive, so that’s why he wasn’t on the field for the end of regulation or OT. He said he doesn’t expect to miss any time.
