Injury Update: Warriors’ Klay Thompson making ‘good progress’ during rehab over summer

The countdown for Klay Thompson’s long-awaited return to the Golden State Warriors’ lineup is officially underway.

After missing the last two seasons with a torn ACL and a torn Achilles, the five-time All-Star shooting guard is making “good progress” in his rehab, according to the latest injury update from the Warriors.

While there isn’t a designated date for his return, he is “on pace” to return for the upcoming 2020-21 season, per the Warriors. During Golden State’s upcoming training camp, the Washington State product is expected to participate in “various controlled drills,” according to the Warriors.

During the offseason, Thompson has shared multiple encouraging videos on social media from different workout and training sessions.

Thompson’s attendance at training camp will give him his first official chance to work with new teammates like Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody and Otto Porter Jr.

The last time Thompson suited up for the Warriors, it was game six of the 2019 NBA Finals. During the 2018-19 campaign, the Splash Brother averaged 21.5 points on 46.7% shooting from the field with 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest.
