Injury update on key Nottingham Forest man ahead of Leeds United test

Nottingham Forest hope midfielder Samba Sow will be fit to face Leeds United, after missing this afternoon’s defeat at Birmingham City.

A knee injury kept the 30-year-old sidelined as the Reds fell 2-1 at St Andrew’s, bringing an end to their seven-match unbeaten run in the league.

Tiago Silva had put the visitors in front, only for Lewis Grabban to miss a penalty and Scott Hogan to quickly equalise for the Blues, with Kristian Pedersen securing the three points in the second half.

Next up is a clash with the Whites at the City Ground, with Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi hoping to have Sow available again for that one.

“He had a problem with his knee and we can’t play with players not at 100 percent,” said the Frenchman.

“I don’t think it is serious. I hope it is not serious.

“I hope he will be ready for the next game.

“That (Sow’s absence) is not the reason we lost.

“We were so stupid and naive to give them the game, when we started in the way we did.

“I don’t want to find excuses - pitch, wind, referee, opponent, Samba Sow, transfer window, club, fans.

“It is just our fault. We need to accept that and stop it happening again.”
