Injury Update: Klay Thompson’s MRI comes back clean

Golden State Warriors fans can exhale a collective sigh of relief. The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported Monday that an MRI on Klay Thompson’s right knee has come back clean.

Although no injury is present, right knee soreness kept Thompson out of the Warriors’ Saturday night game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Following the MRI, Thompson has been listed as day-to-day, with his rehabilitation focused on “[regaining] range of motion in his knee,” according to a league source via Charania.

The Warriors eked out a three-point win over the Sixers in Philadelphia. But with Thompson playing his best ball of the season in recent months, his services were surely missed.

Thompson is averaging 40 percent shooting from three-point range and 24.2 points per game since the All-Star break.
