Injury Update: Klay Thompson grinds through rehab on surgically-repaired ACL

Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson tore his ACL in Golden State’s NBA Finals loss to the Toronto Raptors on June 13. But he did not go under the knife until weeks later. More specifically, the Splash Brother did not have surgery until he had signed a max contract with the Warriors in free agency. Now, he is taking next steps toward getting back on the court.

95.7 The Game tweeted a video of Thompson during a physical therapy session with a trainer. With music blaring in the background, Thompson grimaces during a 10-repetition set of leg lefts. His work is just beginning but at least he has some comfort while he endures the rehab grind.

Snoozing between the All-Star’s legs is none other than Rocco, the superstar’s beloved bulldog who is the secret weapon behind much of Thompson’s success. Although Rocco probably misses going on hiking adventures, he seems just as content to support Thompson through physical therapy.

Although unlikely, Thompson could return in the 2019-20 season, but his debut would probably be well after the All-Star break (if at all).
