Injury Update: Kevon Looney suffered sprained collar bone, will not return in Game 2

While the Golden State Warriors are heading into the 4th quarter of Game 2 of the NBA Finals, the team has received a bit of bad news on the injury front once again.

Steph Curry hasn’t been at 100 percent, DeMarcus Cousins is still figuring things out after coming back from a torn quad, Andre Iguodala had an MRI after Game 1 and Kevin Durant is still out with a strained calf. What else could go wrong? How about Kevon Looney going down hard after taking a shot from Toronto’s Kawhi Leonard late in the second quarter.

Looney laid on the floor for a bit after the contact, went to the locker room and didn’t return after this play.

It was reported at halftime that Looney was unlikely going to return to the game, but late in the 3rd, Shams Charania reported that Looney suffered a sprained collar bone and would not return for the remainder of Game 2.

Game 3 isn’t until Wednesday, which means the Warriors will have two days off before having to make a decision on Looney, but the team has to hope that he’s good to go for Game 3 as he’s the team’s only big who can defend pick and rolls on the defensive end.
