Injury update: Andre Iguodala’s MRI came back clean, expected to play Game 2

The Golden State Warriors are trying to recover from a 118-109 Game 1 loss to the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals on Thursday where they were already missing Kevin Durant and they ended up having another key piece limp to the finish line.

After driving in for a bucket toward the end of the game, Andre Iguodala began to limp back down the floor causing more concern for a Warriors team battling the injury bug at the moment at the worst time.

On Friday, coach Steve Kerr said Iguodala underwent an MRI and that he’s feeling “pretty good” as the team looks ahead to Game 2. It appeared as if he aggravated a calf strain injury that caused him to miss Game 4 of the Conference Finals.

Despite the injury scare, the results of his MRI came back as good news for the team. The MRI came back clean and the expectation is that he will play in Game 2.

The Warriors have proven time and time again that they can pick themselves back up when they’re down. There’s a reason why this team has won three of the last four championships in the NBA. With or without Iguodala, expect a much better effort out of the defending champs in Game 2 on Sunday.
