Injury to sideline Florida OT Jawaan Taylor from NFL combine drills

Former Florida Gators offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor won’t be participating in drills at the NFL combine in Indianapolis due to a hamstring injury.

According to a letter from renowned sports medicine physician, Dr. James Andrews, the presumed first-round pick has a “mild distal hamstring strain” that will prevent him from working out at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Taylor is a prospect that would help the Houston Texans as they revamp their offensive line, a unit that was a part of quarterback Deshaun Watson being the most-sacked passer in the NFL with 62 sacks.

The 6-5, 338-pound offensive lineman will still have a chance to impress NFL scouts at Flordia’s pro day later in March. If he cannot engage in the drills at that time, then his stock will be affected. As of now, he should still in consideration for the Texans’ first-round pick, presuming he falls far enough down to 23rd overall.
